Welcome to the Middle School Principals’ Association, as we enter our 71st year of membership, as an organization of dedicated NYC principals, we continue to support the strong innovative education that inspires all students to see beyond the disciplines as a separate entity, but instead combined them as cohesive learning paradigm based on real-world application.
The Middle School Principals’ Association is a principal advocacy group that leverages the knowledge of its members in the field along with experts at the university level to provide principals with rich and intensive professional development opportunities such as our annual conference, annual retreat and monthly meetings for professional enrichment.
A Message From Our President
As a Middle School Principal for almost twenty years, I am honored to represent MSPA as President. My journey as an educator began in 2000 as a physical educator in District 8, Maritime Academy for Science and Technology. From the gymnasium I became an Assistant Principal at JHS 117, 09X117, The Joseph Wade Academies in 2003. After four years as an Assistant Principal, my career as a Principal began in 2007 at MS 399, 10X399. I now serve as Principal of PS/MS 363, 10X363, a new K-8 with an elementary expansion in 2019.
I look forward to working with middle school principals across the city and learning from all the amazing leaders. As Principals, our job is a lonely one, but we can depend on each other to grow professionally and share best practices. The network of not only leaders but friends that MSPA has allowed me to grow has been a lifesaver as I navigate leading a school of over 850 students. MSPA is a supportive organization where leaders can learn from one another and utilize the experience and skills of their colleagues to ensure success. Over the next two years I look forward to growing the organization and supporting all the new middle school principals that join. Together we can accomplish so much, and the work becomes less stressful when we have a network surrounding us.
